Regional TSA Competitions

Regional competitions are not qualifying competitions for the WTSA State Conference. Each regional is hosted by an individual school. They are great opportunities for practice for your students, to get them ready to attend State.

January 6th

9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Henry M Jackson High School

Architectural Design,  Biotechnology Design, Children’s Stories,  Debating Technological Issues, Digital Video Production, Engineering Design, Essays on Technology, Fashion Design, Flight Endurance, Music Production, On Demand Video (prompt will be published on Wednesday, Jan 3rd), Photo Technology, Promotional Graphics, Technology Problem Solving

Cost is $10 per student, pizza for lunch (see flyer below)

January 12th (Friday)

4:00 pm to 7:30 pm

Cavelero Mid-High

VEX robotics (skills only), problem solving, Leadership strategies, CAD Foundations, Technical Design and Career Prep

Cost is $10 per student, pizza for dinner (see flyer below)


January 13th 

8:30 am – 2:45 pm

Finn Hill Middle School (Kirkland)


Students can choose to participate in one or all of the following events:

Leadership Strategies, Prepared Speech, Dragsters, Video Game Design, Problem Solving

Please note that if you are submitting a Video Game, please bring a laptop for each game, all students will have the opportunity to Beta Test each game and leave feedback for the designers.


Please bring cutting supplies (exacto-knives and/or scissors) for problem solving. All other materials will be provided.


The schedule for the day:

8:30: Project Check In (Students will submit their video games and dragsters, as well as sign up for time slots for prepared speech and leadership strategies)

9:00 – 11:00: Leadership, Speech, Game Design, and CO2 will be running simultaneously.  There will also be some code breaker and puzzle activities to entertain students while they are waiting.

11:30 – 12:00 Lunch

12:00 – 2:00: Problem Solving – It is recommended that all students attending participate in this event.

2:00 – 2:15: Transition for awards

2:15 – 2:45: Awards

Cost is $10 per student for lunch and problem solving materials (see flyer below)

January 13th

Mountlake Terrace High School

On Demand Video, Problem Solving, Extemporaneous Speech, Structural Design, Dragster Design, LEAP resume and interview workshop

Cost is $10 per student, pizza for lunch (see flyer below)

January 20th

9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Brier Terrace Middle School

All students will compete in Structures and Problem Solving. CO2 cars and Video Game Design will also be available.

Cost is $15 per student, breakfast and lunch (see flyer below)
