2015 State Conference a Huge Success

The Washington TSA State Conference has came to a close.  Held on March 26-28, 2015 at the Bellevue Hilton and Red Lion Bellevue this was the largest conference in the history of the organization with 800 participants.  The conference kicked off with the interactive keynote presentation from Hoan Do.  Hoan encouraged our members to not listen to the negative voices in their heads, instead to say "Hold up. That is Whack!, I can do that".  

Through out the conference students competed in 57 competitive events at the Middle and High School level.  From Engineering to Robotics to Video Game Design to Leadership and much more these students delivered strong performances.  With industries professionals acting a judges the students received valuable feed back as their explore and prepare for careers.

Students had the opportunity to explore their future at the annual WTSA Education Fair in which 13 post secondary programs were represented.  From apprenticeships to community & technical college to four year universities these students had the opportunity to learn more about the variety of paths available to them after high school.  TRI-Leadership provided a series of leadership training workshops that members took part in to further develop their leadership and employ ability skills. 

One of the highlights of the conference was the Election of the 2015-16 WTSA State Officer team. WTSA would like to congratulate the newly elected officers:

Secretary: Katerina Schwab, FifeHigh School
Treasurer: Brandon Gabor, Burlington-Edison High School
Reporter: Lydia Kim, HM Jackson High School
Sergeant at Arms: Nadia Smith, Goldendale High School
