COMPETITION REGISTRATION DEADLINE

All students who plan to compete this year will need to register for events between Nov. 24 and Dec. 19, 2025. Chapter advisors must complete the registration for students.

Cost: $35 per student (up to 6 events)

MANDATORY DEADLINE ALL COMPETITIVE EVENTS

  • Thursday, January 22, 2026

  • 5:00 PM

All Competitive Events, middle and high school, including Washington-Only events, have a MANDATORY deadline of 5:00 pm PST on Thursday, January 22, 2026.

This deadline is a required “qualification” for competition at the State or National TSA conferences. The top entries in each event after judging will be invited to compete at the State Conference.

STATE CONFERENCE REGISTRATION DEADLINE

Closes at 5:00 PM on Feb. 27, 2026

Only students who were invited to compete at the WTSA State Conference after the January qualification can register for the WTSA State Conference

Conference Package Breakdown

Registration Fee

$100 Advisors

$140 Students

or $250 Registration without meals (does include ice cream social and Carnival)

Hotel Costs

$620 per Advisor (single room)

$310 per Advisor (if shared room)

$190 per Student (if 3-4 to a room)

Meal Costs

$250 per person - 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 3 dinners

$15 extra optional for boxed lunch Saturday after Awards

Chapters may opt out of hotel or meals. There is not an option to opt out of meals AND hotel.

Transportation costs are an additional $160 per person, from 1 of 3 locations in the Seattle/King County area, or along the route to Spokane (this is an optional additional cost)

Competitive Events

 Competitive Event Signup

To compete, students must:

  • Belong to a currently affiliated TSA chapter

  • Be registered (by their TSA advisor) for competition by December 19, 2025 ($35))

  • Compete in the January 22, 2026 virtual competition (see individual event pages for details)

  • Be selected as a top competitor in their event(s) and invited to participate at State

    • Number of competitors is dependent on specific event

    • Qualifying competitor lists will be published by February 9, 2026

    • State Conference registration week February 23-27, 2026

Notes

  • Participants may compete in a maximum of 6 competitive events

  • Participants must register for each event in which they intend to compete by the registration deadline of Dec 19. YOU MAY NOT ADD EVENTS AFTER THIS DATE.

  • Chapters are responsible for paying $35 each for all students who are registered as of Dec. 19

  • Any event with no registered participants on Dec. 19 will be cancelled.

  • Events with fewer than 5 entries may be cancelled.

Registration counts are used to determine schedule, space, and judging needs. 

Some events have early deadlines. Space and time are limited at the conference.

Please review the Competitive Events Guide in Total TSA for the complete rules for each event. Some rules may be modified at the State Conference (i.e. on-demand video will be 36 hours rather than 48 hours).

Washington TSA Rule Changes/ Updates

To allow us to better facilitate the competitive events based on our available space and schedule, WTSA has made modifications to the competitive events. Additionally, WTSA reserves the right to have fewer semifinalists than the rules call for or make other changes that are required at the conference in order to facilitate the events.
