Artificial Intelligence
Description
Applying leadership and 21st century skills, participants demonstrate their knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts, models, and best practices by completing a test in order to qualify for the semifinals. Semifinalist teams demonstrate 21st century skills through participating in solving onsite problems using a GenAI tool. Completed solutions are objectively measured to determine the best solution for the stated problem.

Event Deadlines
January 21, 2027
Each student on the team must take the January AI test. Students should complete the test without outside assistance or resources.

Each student must take the test individually. Students will need their Participant ID number from their advisor.
Advisors will receive student scores.
April 2027
All team members will take a test an AI the state conference on Wednesday afternoon/evening during the testing window.
Each team member must bring a laptop for testing that can connect to wifi (which may require entering a password), and able to access https://www.answerwrite.com/tsa/wa
Washington TSA Rules
To compete, students must:
Belong to a currently affiliated TSA chapter
Be registered (by their TSA advisor) for competition by December 18, 2026 ($35)
Compete in the January 21, 2027 virtual competition (see individual event pages for details)
Be selected as a top competitor in their event(s) and invited to participate at State
Number of competitors is dependent on specific event
Qualifying competitor lists will be published by February 7, 2027
State Conference registration week February 22-26, 2027 (see state conference page for details)
This event is only for teams of 2. At the state level, 3 teams per chapter may compete.
