Data Science and Analytics
Description
Participants collect data, conduct an analysis of the data, and make a prediction about the outcome. Participants document and summarize their research within a scientific poster and present their findings. Semifinalists have two (2) hours to create a visual representation of a provided data set.
WASHINGTON TSA COMPETITION UPDATE 9/12/23
In the current competitive event guidelines, high school Data Science and Analytics requires that the Scientific Poster be no larger than 8 X 11 and be included in the portfolio. The information that is required on the Scientific Poster (Introduction, Purpose, Methods, Results with charts and graphs, Next Steps, and References) cannot fit onto such a small area without being so small that it cannot be read. The optional Scientific Poster Template that is posted on the National TSA page still uses the 36 X 48 layout that was required last year.
Because of this, Washington TSA is making the following modifications to the event:
Students will create a digital 36x48 size poster, that includes all of the required information
The poster will be uploaded as a separate pdf file
The poster will NOT be included in the portfolio file
