Description
Participants combine text, illustrations, charts, and graphics to communicate complex concepts or data quickly and effectively, helping to help convey information in a more visually appealing and accessible manner, making it easier for viewers to understand and remember key points.
2026-27 Theme
Forward to 50: 50 Years of Change
Fifty years can transform an idea, an industry—and the way we live.
Choose one technology, innovation, or area of technological development that has experienced significant change during the past 50 years.
Create a large-format infographic that visually communicates its journey from approximately 1976 to today, highlighting important developments, breakthroughs, statistics, and turning points along the way.
But don't stop at today.
Use the trends and information you have discovered to look forward and present a thoughtful, research-supported prediction of what this technology or field could look like in the year 2076.
Your infographic should answer three questions:
Where did we start?
How did we get here?
Where might we go next?
The final design should be visually engaging and easily understood when displayed as a large-format poster or banner.

Event Deadlines
January 21, 2027
Students will submit their infographic for scoring.
Students may make changes to infographic after receiving judge feedback.
March 18, 2027
This is an Early Entry event!
Completed entry due by 5:00 pm, March 18!
Semifinalists will compete in onsite challenge during State Conference.
Washington TSA Rules
To compete, students must:
Belong to a currently affiliated TSA chapter
Be registered (by their TSA advisor) for competition by December 18, 2026 ($35)
Compete in the January 21, 2027 virtual competition (see individual event pages for details)
Be selected as a top competitor in their event(s) and invited to participate at State
Number of competitors is dependent on specific event
Qualifying competitor lists will be published by February 7, 2027
State Conference registration week February 22-26, 2027 (see state conference page for details)
At the state level, 3 individuals may compete from each chapter.
