Career Prep

Description

Participants conduct research on a selected technology-related career according to a theme (below), and use this knowledge to prepare a letter of introduction and a chronological skills resume. Semifinalists participate in a mock interview.

Choose a career from the Career Clusters Energy & Natural Resources category within one of the following subclusters:

  • Resource Extraction

  • Conservation & Land Management

  • Ecological Research & Development

  • Clean & Alternative Energy

  • Environmental Protection

  • Utilities

Event Deadlines

January 22, 2026

Students will need their Participant ID number, and password, from their advisor.

Students submit cover letter and resume (in that order) as a single pdf file.

This is an early entry event!

Entries are due by 5:00 pm PST on March 19, 2026.

Semifinalists will interview as if applying for the position they chose.

 

Washington TSA Rules

To compete, students must:

  • Belong to a currently affiliated TSA chapter

  • Be registered (by their TSA advisor) for competition by December 19, 2025 ($35)

  • Compete in the January 22, 2026 virtual competition (see individual event pages for details)

  • Be selected as a top competitor in their event(s) and invited to participate at State

    • Number of competitors is dependent on specific event

    • Qualifying competitor lists will be published by February 8, 2026

    • State Conference registration week February 23-27, 2026 (see state conference page for details)

At the state level, 3 individuals per chapter may compete.
